We were fans in this house and are sorry to see his campaign come to an end even though we knew he didn't have a chance to get the nomination. He made an appearance at the Hibbing Memorial Building shortly before the 2004 election. Ellen was in second grade at the time, but we felt she was old enough to drag to a rally. I even made her a shirt for the occasion. It was a very exciting thing to be part of and I'll always be glad that we were able to hear him speak in person.
And yes, we had another day off. Every school in the area is closed.
